  1. I’m the sole developer in a company that, before my arrival, had EVERYTHING in Access DB programs. LITERALLY – hundreds of them. Since our apps are all for internal use, behind a firewall, I decided to go with WPF and I believe a book like this will definitely help my development efforts in the years ahead.

  2. I’m a self taught developer that works as a contractor in a pretty hardcore pro Wpf company. When I say hardcore I mean we have our own home grown Wpf framework with custom poco bindings, multiple styling (including windows8 aka metro ) sets and specialized controls that are used by several companies. As of right now suffice it to say I’m on the lower end of the hardcore Wpf spectrum (despite having read much of WPF 4 Unleashed and having written a xaml app in wp7 and publishing one for windows 8) and while I was at least a midtier webdev elsewhere, I am a junior dev here. I’m really trying to be awesome here as I wish to open source at lease some of this awesome stuff we have here (but I cannot at this point for I am but a lowly contractor trying to be permanent employee) in addition I am trying to become a permanent employee so that I may stabilizing myself enough to complete my degree in computer science. While I know that winning this book won’t be a pancea to all my problems I’m sure it would help me gain an edge on wpf and help me on the way to do all that I aspire.

In addition I’ll contribute to my local user group and share the wealth among my peers as I have in the past with my javascript presentation (see my blog).

  3. I need to know the latest features of WPF. With Windows Presentation Foundation 4.5 Cookbook i will have the latest information.

  4. I am a self learner and a developer..I wanted to keep myself updated and teach my friends,so that i can share and learn more about WPF.
I wish i get this book.

  5. I’m a self taught developer, working commercially, but I’m currently working on maintaining and developing legacy ASP.NET and WinForms apps.

There is little chance of me being able to broaden my horizons in my current role so this book would allow me to do so in my own time.

    Cheers. 🙂

  6. I like WPF, and I’m thrilled to see microsoft keep working on it, just how awesome it will be in 4.5 i don’t know, but i really would like to find out 🙂

  7. Immediately after New Year I’m starting a new project based on WPF. Currently I know WPF exist and seen some basic demo videos but never been involved in an actual project. Book like this one will be a good learning source and future companion to me.

  8. It would be wonderful to win a copy of this book. I’ve been doing WPF development since 2008, and I have found myself in a position of being the WPF “expert” at an organization starting a new project using WPF.

As any good developer, looking back, I would love to change how parts of the code were written, but in spite of that, we’ve managed to ship 2 releases of a product commercially.

Being able to quickly get up to speed with what is new with WPF would be incredibly helpful, and would make me a more valuable member of my team.

    Thanks for making this available!

  9. Freebies! Gotta love them.

I’ve been wanting to get better familiarized with WPF.
